Raiders never stop whining about that play 40 years later. Please get over it and move on.

  • KChack80 says:

The guy at 5:05 must be slow or something b/c he seems oblivious to the fact that a defensive player touching the ball, as is the case here, the rule is irrelevant.

  • KChack80 says:

Explain, please, why it was “clearly illegally Plain and Simple.”

  • GialloHorror says:

This play isn’t as bad as the Rob Lytle fumble in 1977 against The Broncos. The Immaculate Reception (which I think Tatum clearly hit the ball, and if not there’s no conclusive evidence, anyway) Rob Lytle clearly fumbles going into the endzone, and the refs give it back to The Broncos which cost The Raiders the game.

  • Roberto Rodriguez Jr says:

but why does it really matter and why all the fuss. the steelers lost to the dolphins the next week.

  • Roberto Rodriguez Jr says:

I am as far away from being a raiders or al davis fan (he was a lying Dbag who stole the raiders team away from his business partner.) but the play was clearly illegally Plain and Simple.

  • W1ldmutt says:

Wow, if that happened against the Dolphins it would ruined their perfect season. Too bad the Raiders play them first lol.

  • bronc30td says:

Wow….they really had a sit down interview with the drunk dude in the bar who said “Immaculate Reception” that one time?

  • nicka903 says:

funny how the CIA guy is talking about how some people are far too conspiratory. please don’t start a debate with me.

  • KChack80 says:

Frenchy erringly thinks that revealing that he touched the ball would have nullified the play. Does he not know or has no one explained to him that by Tatum touching the ball as well makes it irrelevant whether Frenchy touched it or not??
If I wrote a book on pet peaves, this whole Immaculate Reception “controversy” would be near the top of the list.
How many of you people on youtube u’stand how ridiculous it is to call this play a “controversial play?”

  • KChack80 says:

Sorry George at 26:10, you’re delusional. The officials got it right.

  • KChack80 says:

Actually, the answer as to whether or not it hit Tatum is at 22:54.
Hit the space bar for fractional pausing in order to isolate the image just as the ball(in a close-up) is passing Fuqua and hits Tatum in the shoulder pads.

  • KChack80 says:

I have to question the intelligence of a lot of the people out there(especially the old Raiders) who can’t grasp what happened and how it compared to the “two offensive players in succession” rule. Yes, the ball could not hit Fuqua and then be caught by Harris. However, the rule is nullified in that it obviously hit Tatum as well.
Can you understand that, John Madden and George Atkinson??
HINT: Stop the frame of the side shot of Tatum’s hit on Fuqua JUST as the ball passes Fuqua’s helmet.

  • KChack80 says:

Funny how this play is considered “controversial.” Even with the lame rule back then of the ball not being able to hit two offensive players in succession, it obviously hit Tatum as well as Fuqua. In hitting Tatum as well, the lame rule becomes a lame duck in this instance, and Harris was free to catch the ball.

  • Paul Z says:

One Raiders coach said he heard the referee make a phone call according to him the ref called the police & asked how many cops could the refs gat for protection if they ruled in Oakland’s favor I guess they could only get 6 cops so the ref said touchdown

  • Nick Van Capelleveen says:

mnf tune. hello roger! no im not going to tell them what happend. nono don’t take my pension listen. i laughed so hard.

  • DocLuva32 says:

I love how his wife pulled out the Steelers uni they use during role play

  • DocLuva32 says:

WOW!!!! I LOVE THE OLD WIFE BIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Carlos R. says:

Oh, sorry, i did not understand the context :)

  • DocLuva32 says:

00:34 Shouldnt the ball be lower to the ground???

  • erod509 says:

He’s saying get over it raiders fans , Im a raiders you dummy

  • Carlos R. says:

Hes saying that he caught it you dummy

  • hrtonslv says:

Amazing that this piece goes on and on and on and no one even attempts to ask Jack Tatum about the play. (Just Harris and Fuqua) And now it’s too late as he has passed away.

  • Taylor Cassell says:

It blows my mind what his numbers would’ve been if he never had to play full back or had diminished playing time with the Raiders. My goodness

  • Jesus Zamarripa says:

    “Jackson never played football again…”
    ohh shittttt

  • ThatsWhatUCallClass says:

“I’m in the Hall of fame, by the way, and I came in fourth string…”

  • PRESTOSAURUSREX says:

    11:26 Darrelle Revis? lol

  • 505AG says:

If it wasnt for al he would probably have 20’000 yds rushing

  • tikiX4 says:

    Campanadas 2013

  • Tomrob09 says:

    Fuck Al Davis

  • clavo420 says:

It’s very simple to figure out why both sides would never mention the root of their vendetta.

Al caught Marcus and his son, Mark Davis, using COCAINE. Al blames Allen for addicting his son. Reason why Neither will admit to it, and Mark and Marcus are still friends.

  • Jonathan Aldridge says:

lol al davis is so stupid im glad he gave my chiefs marcus. thanks al!

  • canyonfb75 says:

Al Davis was smart keeping him on the raiders…..just so he wouldn’t play him in the future. And I don’t like al Davis…

  • esliass123 says:

Marcus lost 4-5 PRIME years because of fucking Davis. 5 years!

  • Alex Zahos says:

Just loved the way Mr. Allen played the game, great running back for my Raider’s. Yea I know he played for our bitter rival Chief’s, but once a Raider…forever a Raider. Raider’s for life!!!

  • GuerrillaInYoMidst says:

Al Davis was proof that position/power corrupts.

  • Gunzfan123 says:

I was going to write a reply to dlawr2 about how I think LT is the greatest goal line running back of all time, but after watching this and how much SHIT this guy went through with Al Davis theres no way I could. This man is truly great to do what he did and have a man like that trying to ruin his career. I still think LT is the best because hes my fav, but I have nothing to argue about if someone tells me Marcus Allen is better.

  • Ace16501 says:

    Fuck Al
    He’s dumb

  • Ace16501 says:

This got me mad Bo Jackson has nothing on Marcus

  • PackerBronco says:

Marcus Allen: The only player to win the NFL MVP, Superbowl MVP, and the Heisman.

  • Amadorsnovels11 says:

I don’t know as a Seahawks fan I think Marcus Allen was such an awesome RB in the NFL and was a great player on and off the field. Also that Al Davis thought he was getting bigger then Raiders is just really stupid to say I mean that is what happens when you play good in LA people want your stardom. But Al Davis…he was stupid and was not prepared to handle the LA market

  • Scott D says:

My all-time favorite player! This one gives me goosebumps watching.

  • BearsDkills says:

Al Davis was a fucking idiot towards the end of his life for the Raiders. Destroyed the franchise.

  • spko9 says:

was better on the raiders than the chiefs

  • OspreysAmByth says:

HELP PLEASE does anyone have the episodes, cleveland 95, tom coughlin and tebow? thanks

  • Al McGeach says:

They need to do Charles Haley its crazy that they haven’t.

  • TheGreekStifler says:

Guys you can see in this documentary how some people get jealous of somebody’s greatness, talent and charisma.Al Davis seemed to be one of those people and you can see it in his face at the and of the video how ugly he was and you see marcus allen after all this punishment look like a 40-year old.Just a beautiful and an ugly person.
